BACKSTORY
TRIGGER WARNINGS: mentions of alcoholism, abuse and violence, blood
▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰
Jett Riley Grayson is the eldest son to Axel and Dove Grayson. His father was an alcoholic and often abused his wife and his son. This continued for years until Dove announced another pregnancy. She believed that this would change her husband. However, her hopes were shattered as soon as she brought that little girl home. While Jett was thrilled about his baby sister, his father could have cared less. Nothing was important to the man more than his booze. He saw his wife as an item his owned, his children as problems. The abuse continued, but Jett always made sure to protect his baby sister. He also turned to music, mainly rock music and some metal. Of course, he was open minded to all music. Music became an escape for Jett.He picked up a guitar at the age of nine and learned rather quickly how to play it. Of course, Dove was pleased about this. She even purchased his first guitar with a little extra money she made at the local diner. Jett did his best to hide that guitar, he cherished it entirely. Knowing just the lengths his mother went to save up and purchase it. Granted it wasn't the best guitar, but it was an accoustic and Jett loved it! Sometimes he would even sing and play for baby Rosie, which always made the little girl coo and smile. Dove couldn't have been more proud of her eldest boy. She knew he had a heat of gold despite everything Axel had put them through. No matter how many times that man raised his hand at Jett, the boy continued to wear his heart on his sleeve.

TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of abuse and violence. injuries/death and guns
▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰
When Jett was only eleven years old, he had finally had enough of Axel and his abuse. His "father" had complained about Dove not having dinner ready after he came home from work. The smell of alcohol wafting from the man's breath was clear as day. Jett was playing with Rosie when he heard his mother scream. Quickly scooping up Rosie, he placed her in her room and ran to find his mother. His father was yelling and throwing things around the kitchen. Jett knew he probably shouldn't get involved, but he was tired of seeing his mother covered in bruises.Upon reaching the kitchen, the eleven year old boy found his father with a gun. Without any hesitation, he is picking up his baseball bat and sneaking up behind Axel. Swinging the bat as hard as he could, he managed to catch his "father" off-guard. Dove sceamed again as Axel turned the gun onto Jett. The anger was plastered all over the older man's face. His hatred for his "children" was deep and he couldn't believe the boy had actually hit him. Without so much of a word, he backhanded Jett with the gun in hand. For once, Dove found herself knocking the gun from Axel's hand. Before he could go for the gun again, Jett scrambled for the gun. Granted the boy had never been taught how to use it⎯ he held the gun pointed at the older man.Axel found it hilarious that his pussy of a son could handle a gun. He made sure to voice that opinion. Dove's ocean hues were filled with tears as she sat and looked at her little angel. Not a single soul could have predicted that Jett would pull the trigger. . . that he would have aimed just right and Axel would collapse to the floor. The only sounds that Jett could eventually pick up on was the sound of his mother's screams and the feeling of warm blood splattered upon his face.
The only thought that kept repeating over and over again in Jett's mind was. . .
** he can never hurt us again. . . he can never hurt us again**

TEEN YEARS:
After the death of his "father" , Dove managed to move them away and into a little trailer. It wasn't the most perfect home. . . but it was home for the little Grayson family. This was a fresh start for the three of them. Rosie was too young to understand what had happened with Axel. The incident was ruled as self-defense and there was enough police records to confirm it. There had been multiple times the cops were called to the Grayson household. Plenty of photos taken at the hospitals.
But now? That was all over. Jett, Rosie and Dove were finally able to live a normal life.Or so Jett thought.Attending a whole new school was brutal. Jett was bullied relentlessly for the way he dressed, the fact he was always lost in a book or writing in a notebook. The boy found poetry and writing lyrics as something that brought him ease. He often came home with bruises and the occasional black eye. Other boys in his school simply reminded him of Axel. They were nothing but bullies. Nevertheless, he carried on and refused to fight... but that notion soon changed.By the time he turned sixteen, Jett had been in trouble several times at school. Most of the time it was for standing up for himself⎯ other times it was standing up for other kids who were being harrassed by the popular students. Of course, Dove consistently saw the softer side of her son when it came to him and his little sister.

TRIGGER WARNINGS:
mentions of drug use/underage drinking.
▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰
Jett tried weed for the first time at the age of seventeen. A couple of his buddies had pressured him into trying it. Of course, the second his mother found out, he was "grounded" for a month. However, that didn't stop the teenager from rebelling and eventually trying his first little bit of alcohol.
